Cassava tree

Cassava is one of the important plants of food in the tropics such as Thai Lan, Brazil, Nigeria, Indonesia, Viet Nam,.. At present, in these countries, the large amount of cassava trees is used for the purpose of Food and animal feed, the remaining part is used in the processing  industry.     Thai Lan is the country which whole output of cassava used for industry with the main products are tapioca chips, tapioca pellet and tapioca starch. Over 55% of production used as tapioca chips used for processing animal feed, inside 90% for exporting directly to Europe, 10% for consumption in the domestic market.    Although the production of fresh cassava only gains 18 million MT per 175 million MT total outputs of world, Thai Lan is the leading country on over the world specializing in producing and exporting tapioca starch.    Two million MT tapioca starch are produced from 10 million MT raw tapioca. Besides, Thai Lan is the unique country producing denatured tapioca starch in the industrial field. About 50% tapioca starch (nature and denatured) is used in processing food and other industrial fields, the remaining part for exporting. In china, India, Indonesia, the cassava is mainly used for the domestic market.     In the past years, the goods are produced from the cassava tree bring significant income for Thai Lan and of the potential commodity developing in future. The development of tapioca starch industry is also one of strong motivation to Thai Lan speed up planting cassava for the purpose of industry.     Viet Nam now is manufacturing more than 2 million MT fresh cassavas every year. 11 in the world about production but the country are 2 about exporting tapioca starch in the world after Indonesia and Thai Lan.     In the global strategy, the cassava tree is respected as one of the food trees easy to plant suitable for exhausted fields and is of prospect for high competitive ability compare with other trees.     In Viet Nam, the cassava is speed changing the role from the traditional food tree into industrial tree.
