Castor or may place called papaya purple
Although it may have originated in East Africa, but today it has been popular around the world. Castor adaptable to new habitats and can be found in the abandoned lands, near rail and recently planted for ornamental purposes in parks or other public places.
The castor beans were found in the tombs of ancient Egyptians dating back to around 4000 years BC. Herodotus and astronauts ancient Greeks also mentioned the use of seed oil for lighting contractor bid and anoint the body.

The larvae of some species of Lepidoptera Lepidoptera moths destroy as Ecpantheria scribonia castor, hypercompe hambletoni and Discestra trifolii.
Castor beans contain 40-60% oil, which is rich in triglycerides, mainly ricinolein.

Castor seed yields of about 1.2-1.3 million worldwide tons annually. The manufacturing sector is leading India, China and Brazil.
